CABINS FESTIVAL
Annecy (74) / 2018
Mission : Competition
Resembling an unfurling tree trunk, this cabin presents a bark-like exterior that conceals a carved-out perch within. Its "skin" is formed from small branches, creating a play of light reminiscent of forest foliage dappling the ground. The cabin serves as a cocoon—an elevated vantage point from which to observe the landscape. It nestles discreetly into the scenery while inviting passersby to stray from their path and seek refuge inside. It offers a colorful panorama where mountains, forests, and valley-floor villages can be glimpsed. A polished silhouette catches the walker's eye, standing out against the surrounding forest. It appears and disappears as one moves closer, a source of intrigue. With its organic form, the cabin draws visitors in, opening onto a pathway that frames the landscape. Light is filtered, casting soft, delicate shadows. Gradually, the horizon fades behind a dense thicket of branches swaying in the breeze. The path leads the curious visitor to a perch open to both the sky and the landscape—a place to settle, pause, and enjoy the valley's tranquility.
